Proximate Learning is proud to celebrate National Health Education Week (NHEW) with the launch of new products and services that assess and build learning agility for public health leaders in today's volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous world.
Learning agility is the skill of adapting swiftly in ambiguous situations, applying past lessons to new challenges, and embracing curiosity. Agile leaders don't rely on conventional solutions but continuously seek improvement and innovation. While agility is partly an inherent trait, it can be developed with an evidence-based approach that uses leader- and organizational-level assessments, continuous learning and skill development, coaching, and practice.
Learning agility aligns closely with several key priorities in public health workforce development. In the rapidly evolving field of public health, where new diseases, technologies, policies, and health challenges emerge frequently, learning agility is a crucial trait for public health professionals. In addition to increasing the public health workforce’s adaptability to change, interdisciplinary collaboration, and resilience, learning agility prioritizes equity and inclusivity. Learning agility helps professionals navigate cultural competency and inclusion by adapting their approaches based on diverse community needs, learning from interactions, and tailoring interventions to ensure they are equitable and accessible.
Proximate Learning builds stronger connections between health professionals, institutions, agencies, and communities, which ultimately creates a system that is proactive, sustainable, and ready for anything.
