Proximal Zones
Proximate Learning focuses on proximal zones, which are optimal areas for learning and development where professionals are challenged enough to grow but not so much that they become overwhelmed, frustrated, or disengaged.
Every organization has proximal zones that help in identifying gaps between individual performance and what can be accomplished collectively with guidance in the form of a mentor, teacher, or coach. Proximal zones are essential to workforce development and we know how to find them. ​
A Proximate Approach
Our approach emphasizes scaffolding, where support is gradually reduced as professionals gain competence. We combine elements of human-centered, strengths-based design with agile learning concepts to create adaptive environments in which employees, teams, and leaders thrive.
